If you can, stop at Meiringspoort waterfall. Legend has it that mermaids lived in the rock pool, and that its depth is endless. There's nice high rocks to jump off into the (very big, very refreshing) pool. You can't see it from the road, you need to park and walk a few hundred meters to the rock pool.

But absolutely worth it! We stumbled upon it by accident once, and now make a point of stopping there every time we're in that area.

Here's a map to it: http://www.safarinow.com/destinations/de-rust/waterfall/meiringspoort-waterfall.aspx
And some historic info: http://www.princealbert.org.za/what-to-do/meiringspoort/

Scuba dived that pool earlier this year. Only got 9m at its deepest point.

Just completed my ride along Route 62. One of highlights for sure was overnighter at Koedoeskloof and having one of Veldbrands legendary burgers. Great host and highly recommended :thumleft:

iamgigglz you are going to need 17 days with all this advice.

Also heading that way in Feb, so I'll keep checking back here.

Guys the Diesel and Cream is a much better option in Barrydale for a meal
It also has a lot of entertainment value with all the collectables that they have in the place

If you stop in Tradouws pass, make sure it is at the waterfall at piekniekbos.

I have my padkos here every time I go to Stilbaai
