Not camping.. but close enough. Needed to have a quick break away from the shitty city life.

Sometimes a guy just has to get away from it all and that looks like a great spot to do it.
If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it.  The felon does not fear the police, judge, nor jury.  The felon must be taught to fear his victim.

Where is this?

The name of the campsite is Crodinie, it is on a farm about 10km from the N2 on the Infanta road close to Swellendam. Very nice campsite on the banks of the Breede River.
There are 4 equipped caravans each with its own afdak, braai, gas stove and gas fridge and very nice and shady camping spots under the trees. The ablutions are also very nice with solar lights and gas geysers. There is no electricity or cellphone signal at the campsite which make it a nice get away. Just up the hill (about 100m to walk/ride) you will get cell signal again.

Camping at Glen Reenen rest camp. Its all but gone now due to "development". Note the Ouma rusks. Is there anything better than coffee and rusks in the morning, surrounded by mountains?

The sound of rain on the tent and waking up early morning to make some strong coffee. It always tastes better when camping

Tell me more about Glen Reenen being almost gone.  I know they have been busy with construction there since forever.  I camped there once a few years back and it wasn't so lekker due to the bloody Phutuditjaba traffic coming through there the whole damn night.

@Dorsland, We went through there late 2019, if I recall correctly and they had started building whatever it is they're building. Went through Clarens, in November last year and there was very little campsites left, if any. What it is they are building there I am not sure but it has taken over the whole campsite.
What you said about traffic noise is true, it was a very noisy road next to the campsite.

Always astounds me that these people can take something that works and screw it up so badly that the reason for the location's success is destroyed.

It's a pity about that noise as it is a really picturesque location.  Nothing like waking up with that view of those sandstone cliffs towering over you.
