My riding history is very long, and I have owned 11 different models - throughout the last 25 years. Before I got into adventure bikes my last 2 bikes were Yamaha's XJR1300 and then the FJR1300, both of which are in-line 4 cylinder models, so obviously extremely smooth rides.
After these I had a DL1000, and now a Super Tenere 750, both of which are twins, so not as smooth as what I was used to. After a few hours in the saddle it becomes very annoying, to the point that I'm not really willing to punish myself in this way.
My question is this: Which of the bikes on the market, is the smoothest wrt engine vibration? My requirement is to be able to jump on with my wife, and ride for 10 hours as comfortable as possible.
Wind buffeting is of course a whole different topic, and I have also lived through that.
