Trax top box on GSA W
« on: November 17, 2014, 12:54:05 am »
Question for those that may have a Trax box on the new GSA.

Anyone got one fitted? If so, can one cobble the universal SW Motech plate adaptor to the steel OEM rack?
The SWM web catalogue is not clear on this and hints that a lowering kit and plate common with the the std LC is required.
I think it's possible, but want confirmation from someone who has.

Background, if interested - I'm trading my '13 LC in on the GSA. Sometimes I think I'm mad, love my LC, but I want the extra fuel range for touring.

I'm in two minds if I should just get the 32L BMW box or stick to a 38L Trax. And given I have Trax panniers and have for some time on various bikes, I've no qualms about their value for money.

Cheers
Dave

I have taken my Trax box from my 2008 BMW gsa to my 1190 R and now onto the LC gsa. Magic I just got to Pauli at gps 4 Africa and get a new plate adaptor for the bike . Works well no issues

The OEM Topbox is just to small for my laptop bag, so I now  use my SHAD 45l plastic box between the NC and the GSA. Its a bit of a schelp to fit and take the baseplate off.

If you can make the TRAX box fit, would rather go for the extra space...

I had a 2013 LC and have a 2014 ADV now. Moved the motorradical topbox from the LC to the new ADV and wont trade it for a SWM or an OEM. AWESOME BOX!!!!

Contact this oak, cheaper than the SWM and I would say that it is much better quality than the OEM Box.
