So after a move from JHB down to KZN North Coast (good move) I was unfortunately placed in a position which forced me to sell my BMW R1200GS ADV (not the happiest day for me but something that I needed to do).

Now, I'm getting ready to buy again. and it's being faced with decisions.

So this is what I want, hopefully you guys can share some enlightenment and give some good recommendations based on my planned use.

- Something that is not as heavy as the R1200 ADV. (I'm short and that thing was big. I could handle it but on tricky terrain I would prefer something more agile, especially something that allows me to put two feet firmly on the ground.
- Something that when adding a pillion for a short weekend trip is not going to be too much of a killer.
- Something that can take me 1000km and carry enough luggage for a week long trip.
- Something that is fun on the technical terrain.
- Something under R100,000 (preferably around R75,000)

So I was thinking of moving to a KTM, maybe a 690?
Possibly looking at an F800 - those always look good.
Also thought of the SuperTenere for something different.

I'm concerned that nothing I want will cater for a shorter guy. (I'm not a midget but on the R1200GS ADV I was bouncing on tip toes with the standard seat at it's lowest height)

It's not for commuting. It's for farm tracks, sand road, technical terrain, and all the tar in between here and there.

- Reliability is a top factor, and I am also considering a bike which makes a road side repair easier than having to call in a technician with specialised equipment.
