Parys Dome Rained Out
« on: April 05, 2008, 09:20:12 pm »
Had a magnificent route planned round the dome. All in my head, just turn left at every intersection will take us round the dome  ;D wing it.

Only got away at 12 ish from VDBP. Weather looked overcast but nothing too serious.

Headed out to Parys on the usual tar stretch. Thank goodness we decided to stop at Legends for a dop before we hit the dirt. If ever i done the right thing it was today.....

Within 20 minutes it started pouring and didnt stop till we left. On and off heavy showers.

So no ride report as such but a lekker day out once again.

The rain
The RAIN......
Me explaning the route once we got home..... :D

Yeah, the rain stuffed us all around. We had quite a slippery time with the KTM guys.
I bought my first farm, the KTM is now officially MINE... ;D ;D

PS, nice jacket your 'better half' is wearing.... ;D ;D
If you can keep your head in the midst of all this confusion, you don't understand the situation!

She loves the jacket  ;) and so do i.... hehehehehehe  http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=16447.0

Ja the rain was a nightmare. We decided not to ride dirt, rather safe than sorry. The roads aint going anywhere.

One thing i did forget to mention, at Legends we met a very nice guy with family and friends from VDBP. He has a KLR 2005 and was asking a lot of questions about "tuning" his bike. Told him the only place to get the best advice is right here at WildDogs  ;D When they left he offered to put the bike on his twin cab and give us a lift home. Nice to meet people like this when you are out for the day. We drove home in the rain  :D the new rain suites got a very good test and held up wonderfully.

I also done a back tire lock on the wet tar so the g/f could feel what its like when the back end skids out - she karked her self. We were only doing about 30km. Now she knows what to expect if it ever happens for real. Dont panic  ;) and dont moer the driver in the kidneys.
