Zumo 590 or BMW Navigator V ??
« on: January 25, 2015, 07:05:11 pm »
I sold my Zumo 660 with my previous GS  , ..... Yes I know it was stupid as it fits  mount of the K51 GSA ..... :-\ :-\

Now that I have the new GSA I am a bit between a rock and a hard place.

The  Zumo 590 comes highly recommended , however it is not cheap and I will have to get a lockable Touratech mount. In total I am looking at approx R11k . :patch:

The BMW navigator has the added benefit of the integrated controls on the handlebars . It also has the benefit of the mount that is already on the bike.

What do you suggest I do ?? Your inputs are appreciated .

Navigator V. No question. And it is cheaper than your Zumo setup

The integration of the Nav V is what gives it the edge. All the other stuff, any of the new gps's can do. The Nav V also looks better than the Garmin offerings,....

The maps worth using like T4A and Garmin Topo does not come with lifetime option. The Nav V ships without maps so you can choose to load whatever you want.

Ek gebruik Google maps dan print ek my route.

Ek hou ook van n Back up op papier.

Die Gps en die printed kaarte werk lekker  saam,

Thanks, it answers my Question.

Onthou, om te verdwaal op n bike is die beste!

Jy ontdek altyd nuwe paaie!

So vat daai Navigator se geld, en gooi sous daarmee in en gaan ry en verdwaal  :thumleft:

Get Garmap and T4A maps.  BMW maps no good.   Nav 5 is the best GPS for the job....

Nav 5,

I have got the "design a track down to a tee" and the export to the Nav 5, What a pleasure!
So we always exploring different areas now !

Using Tracks 4 Africa and Southern Africa Street Map 14.01(Came with Nav 5)

and when you get the Nav 5 have a read through this

I fitted the Nav V today. The integration with the bike , the feedback of trip detail and the 2 year Bmw guarantee were the final deciding factors.
