Yes we are speaking MX here but make no mistake, the SSS KYB's are not seen as mythical for nothing.
The older bladder style WP forks got very bad reviews and 4CS is a step in the right direction. It still has a lot of ground to make up on the KYB's speed sensitive suspension.
SSS means it's plush when you want it to be and bottom resistant when it must be

Regarding the new air forks: Apparently it costs the manufacturer half as much to manufacture (compared to spring forks) and they weigh less. In terms of performance, they are still no match for spring forks (barring 4CS).
I totally agree with the MXA reviews; KYB or Showa will take the KTM's to the ultimate level. It will take the Japs years to catch up!
P.S.
You can actually buy the KTM450 factory replica with Showa or KYB suspension all round but it's moer expensive.
