Day 7 to 12 - CAPE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!!!

Ratanga & Canal Walk

Today was the day that I found out I am with child

Which was incidently THE WORST day of our trip as we were heading to Ratanga for some rollercoaster fun... which is not good or advised for pregnant fairies!

Off we go and I hadn't told Throttle yet. We go on the Cobra and I am super anxious now that I am going to shake the daylights out of my unborn child...

RT says woooooohooooo she wants to do it again. Not happy, but I oblige. When she wanted to do Bumper Cars I said NO!!!! G looked at me funny and asked "Why"... me... "Same reason I can't drink anymore"... The penny dropped

Anyway, we did a few rides like the boat and water logs and also walked around a bit, but the queues had become quite long and as they had completely closed off sections, there was only so much to do. Next best place was to head next door to Canal Walk for a bit of shopping and Go Karts. Long wait, but they had a lot of fun (very sexy hairnets aside)... so much so that little hooligan almost wiped out her Dad around a corner

Day 12 to 15 - Somerset West

Party, Party, Strawberry Picking, Butterfly World and some more Partying

AND WE'RE BACK ON THE BIKES

Short-lived as we were only going about 50kms to Somerset West to spend New Years with Throttle's mate

Stop for brunchy thingies at Butterfly World as we have never been there and both RT and I are nuts about butterflies.

It was getting a bit warm (up until now we had been very lucky with the weather) and we had use of the car again the next day so we went strawberry picking.

New Year's Eve was spent with amazing people and their family!

Day 12 to 15 - Somerset West

Butterfly World

Loads of critters and creepies around and all three of us totally fell in love with one of the birds. He was super friendly and kept handed out kisses. I wanted to take him home with me, but doubt that would work so lekker on the bikes.

Day 16 - Onrus

Homeward bound and not quite looking forward to it

Properly back on the bikes and we take the coastal road to Onrus, where we will be spending the night at Sprocketbek's place.

When we got there, he wasn't home, but we heard a KTM approaching. It was Rynet taking Kamanya's 950 for a joyride. Changed into something cooler and go for a ride down to the beach and to go say 'hi' at Rynet's house, where she was mmmh-ing and aah-ing over which KTM would be in her future. She took The Mistress for a spin as well.

Was really really good to see everyone and catch up with some good friends.

Day 17 - Malgas Hotel

Enroute to Struisbaai

We are finally back on dirt and I am loving the Western Cape gravel highways. By now I have given up smoking and irritation levels are HIGH, so super happy to be on the dirt again.

We stop regularly for some photos and for RT to pet whichever animal crosses our path

In the mood for fish and chips, we stop off at the restaurant in the harbour. The place was packed and we ran into Kat who was there with his family.

Throttle wants to go there cos of the pretty architecture and white houses, so we wind our way through farmlands just for shits and giggles.

Quick refuel in Bredasdorp and we are off on the gravel to Malgas Hotel.

I am enjoying myself so much on the Western Cape gravel highways that I actually find myself IN FRONT OF THROTTLE at one stage. Love it when he is fully loaded with luggage and is pillioning

Day 17 - Malagas Hotel

I have always wanted to stay here and we could definitely have stayed another night. Comfy beds, good meals and friendly staff.

The SE's fuel pump finally gave up the ghost and as we were there relatively early, Throttle made quick work of replacing it, whilst RT and I went for a walk.

Very pretty area. Lush and green.

Whilst the water baby practised her shark moves, I whiled away the time on the trampoline.

Day 18 - George

We only had 200kms to go for the day... if that, so we were in no rush to head out.

Had a leisurely breakfast and took a stroll to the shop for some juice and snackbox supplies. All stocked up and kitted, we headed over the pont.

Day 18 - George

Just before Heidelberg at a crossroads we stop to check the GPS... it seems a bit lost. I spot a cafe and pull in there whilst Throttle recalculates. Lovely place and super friendly guy working the shop. He saw us pulling in and took out the chairs and dusted them off as if we were royalty! We must have spent about two hours there, just chilling and chatting.

RT befriended a little lamb and was hell-bent on taking it home with her.

Nothing much went on when we got to our accommodation for the night, except for a cool swim, walk in the garden and some yummy pizza at Panarotti's for dinner.

Last few days - Nature's Valley, Plett and Addo

Short ride to Nature's Valley today from George, so we opted to ride the more scenic gravel back roads, along with a bit of a private forestry area.
