Showa front shock setting advice needed (CRF450X)
« on: February 24, 2015, 09:10:31 pm »
Hi dogz

Need some advice on the best setting for the front shocks ............I do mostly rocky technical and hill climbs with some rock on the climbs that the front rebounds and then lose it..rebound aggressive,
Currently have set both damp and rebound to "S" - not sure if this is the best setting  for a smooth ride over the obstacle ................hoping somebody can advise.

Tired of falling on my gat.....getting too old for that    :imaposer:

Found the X a total maniac in those types of terrain, sold mone the next day. The snappy throttle and rock hard forks did not help. Sorry wish I could give some other advise besides buy something with WP suspension. Nice and plush for rocks.

How much do you weigh?
If you weigh more than 85kg with kit, you are riding too deep in the stroke, which becomes harsher as bottoming resistance kicks in.

Fitting harder springs will be your staring point.
 ;)

From what I've read, Showa's are fundamentally very good forks.
