How to fit a HID light to a BMW GSA 2008

Spent an hour fitting this HID to the bike and thought of posting the procedure to all those brave enough to attempt this simple procedure.

First of all find the BMW GSA  :)

Remove the plastic housing cover by twisting off.

See exposed connector to bulb.

Remove the throttle side plastic cover with the BMW badge on the tank.

Cover is off...and hide away area for HID transformer pack shown.

Remove securing bolt on tank bracket.

Drill bracket to fit bolt and cover with tectal, in case of rust.

Secure transformer kit in position with wires facing down.

Replace cover transformer and secure in position.

Remove H7 light bulb by releasing spring clip.

Drill plastic cover with 25mm/1" hole saw.

Pass wiring loom through plastic cover.

Fit rubber electrical gromet in place on cap.

Install HID beam and note position of tag vertical and clip spring into position.

Push electrical male spade pins into female socket of bike lamp holder.

Suggest that heat resistant tape be used to insulate any exposed wires or fittings.

Push electrical supply clip into light housing.

Clip cover into position and twist close.

Nice and bright!

Main beam still has yellow tinge and will done later in same manner.

My main object of this conversion is to be effectively more noticable by other road users.
Plus, being able to see better at night.

Hope this has been beneficial to all those that want to fit an HID.
