Slowpoke passed away on Tuesday evening. The local guys will know the battle he fought. Here is part of an email I received.
"Jacques passed on last night at 8:50pm. He was admitted to hospital on Friday due to further complications with his protracted battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Heloise and daughter, Inge. Jacques was a giant of a man who never shied away from confronting every issue he faced head-on. He put others first before himself even to the very end. Inspirational, courageous and heroic are just some of the words we can use to describe him. He had a great passion and zeal for life and those of us who had the privilege of knowing him will testify to the indelible imprint he left on our own lives. It can be said that while heaven has gained an angel, this world has lost a hero. "
