as you all know i have been on this site for more than 2 years now.

i owned a KTM 950 adv for almost a year, but sold it along with my subaru in order to buy a house and get married.
well,
i got the house, the wedding is past (3 weeks and going strong  ;D ), and i have an old landy that is paid for.

now my GAT is itching BIG time!!!!

for weeks have i been trying to justify to myself why i need a bike again:

"the landy uses +-R2100 of diesel per month. ha! for that kind of money i can buy a bike, insure it, fill it up a couple of times, AND have money left over" (well almost have money left over)

or

"with all the robots out, it makes sense to have a bike"

or

"diesel is not going to get any cheaper"

and my personal favourite;

"it wont be that cold this winter"

1st i thought i'd get a kdx, then i decided on a suzuki drz400 motard, then a bmw x country, and finally KTM 640.
can you see the trend here?
we're going from cheap to expensive.

and to make matters worse, ive spotted a sweet second hand 2005 640 with 2100 on the clock and a pipe for R69 000.
i loved the 950, but always said i'd want something a bit lighter as i only weigh 70kg.

so what do you guys think?
is that price good, or is it a bit steep?

anyone care to share their experience, good or bad with their 640's

ps, Brett, hows your 640 behaving?
