I checked with the PE dealer this morning. No stock currently.
Does anyone have an inside line at BMW to get a vague idea of when stock is expected?

PE het vir my gese my fiets val nie onder hierdie recall nie, maar die artikels se anders. Warrefok?

Butch, if a part broke because it was overtightened it is perhaps understandable. Then the right course of action is to let your service personnel have the correct tensioning
data for that specific item.
Why run the expensive route and beef up the part?

I'd say the torque was not to blame, but a weak part.

Agreed

Good to see they are recalling all bikes from 2003 onwards

Thats brilliant. It means they never said NO and they acknowledging the recall.

Now wait till next week, email them your bike details, VIN ect.. and ask when they'll have in stock so you can drop the bike off for the required works.

I did not consider that permutation. I was thinking of non-owners that have a mouthful on this thread.

Of course  ;)

Just a thought here

The bolts on the rear wheel is supposed to be tourqued @ 60Nm

If the dealer mechanics know that and do not overtighten the bolts, (which I doubt), would BMW be accountable for for this problem?

The issue is a VERY OLD one, not something new, just the recall is new... 8)

My 2011 is excluded.  The recall addresses this issue with a steel part.  2011 is ally too?  What changed.  Any boffins got some part numbers handy?

The fault doesn't occur around the wheel bolts and has nothing to do with them being overtightened.

The cracks are around the rear brake disk bolts.  Will post a pic a little later.
