He won't read this thread, and its more for us PE Airheads, but its fitting to pay tribute to a great Airhead mechanic and friend.

Martin has been working on my Airheads for the past 28 years or so. Not and easy person to get along with, but once you learn to tolerate him, its worth it. His knowledge of Airheads is just phenomenal. There is not a spec he does not know by heart.

When he gives you the call to come fetch your bike and says it runs like a Swiss watch it does.

Gave him a call last night so he can do a bit of fine tuning on the R65. In his usual manner he said : "I've retired... I'm going to ride my bikes now."

And that's it... an immense amount of knowledge suddenly lost to our fraternity. Volker, you are going to have your hands full from now on.

Enjoy the ride my friend... After some 50 odd or more years ( and in his 70's) you've earned it  :thumleft:
