If someone around here (Stellenbosch) has an XR650L which still has the stock pipe fitted, I'd love to go for a quick ride together & hear what it sounds like.
I got my XR with an FMF pipe fitted, and I also got the stock pipe with it (in a box).
I don't like the sound of the FMF pipe, it's too loud, and I'm considering fitting the original pipe again.
But I've never heard the how the stock pipe sounds, and it would be great to hear what it sounds like before I go through the hassle of swapping mine.
So if you have an XR650L with a stock pipe near Stellenbosch (or within 100km or so), and you're keen for a quick ride one day, please get in touch.
If you can recommend a place to ride, I can meet you there, or I'd be happy to show you some mountain tracks around here.
