So my parcel arrived today with my Woodys Wheelworks 21 inch front wheel. Now I just need to wait for my Galfer rotors...

Ok, am I right if I think it is bye-bye to tubeless with those spoke nipples all along the rim?

Jip, need to use a tube. Chatting with them they can make a tubeless 21 inch, but then they will have to use a different size rim, this one is the Excel 1.85, which they claim to be stronger than the 2.15. The rear wheel in size 150/70/17 for the LC is tubeless.

So I fitted the 21 inch wheel today, will get to test it tomorrow.

What I did pick up, and for anyone else whom might be interested to do this conversion, is that ASC is a problem in Rain,  Road and Dynamic (only when you accelerate hard) modes, as well as some times in Enduro (only when you accelerate hard), I have picked ASC even when in Enduro Pro (could not believe it...)so, ASC will be switched off during offroad riding...

Also, due to the fact that you do not have a tyre sensor up front any longer, get use to the warning light changing from a flashing orange to a flashing red...

Other than that, very pleased with the final product.

Dit lyk baie cool, Jaco.  :thumleft:  I like the look without the mudguard.

It seems as if any conversion has its drawbacks, especially if there are so many functions linked to it - in this case the electronics controlling the rolling motion and the tyre pressure sensors.  I guess the speedo will also be slightly out or is that controlled from the rear wheel?

Got a puncture...first time in 3 years on a bike  :sip:

So had to use my 4 co2 cannisters - wanted to order new ones and would be R100  :patch:

So screw that and went to builders - 26l/min compressor on special for R350  :thumleft: Now need to find a mounting point for it

Thanks Jaco

What about the ABS? Any issues with braking hard?

Hi Eduard,

No issues with braking, and in all modes the ABS still works fine. I am using it Dynamic now, as the ASC only kicks in intermittently from 1st to 4th, and it is not an issue when cruising at normal highway speeds. For offroad I set it on Enduro, and deactivate ASC. Worked well yesterday when I tested it (ABS worked without any issues) but that was only up Breedts Nek and a few other gravel roads in the Hartebeespoort / Brits area. Noticable differences that I experienced is on tar, at higher speeds, the wheel almost feel lighter than standard, but again, not an issue for me as 140km/h max is already fast enough.

Very cool

Do you feel a big difference with the big front wheel with handling?

Certainly better offroad, can ride a lot slower and more manageable in technical terrain, however, on the road it is noticeable that handling is not so much road orientated as with the 19 front previously, but then again for my riding style it works perfectly.
