1200 GSA spec
« on: April 03, 2015, 07:56:36 pm »
Hello all,

I am a newbie and would like some advise. I have just purchased a 2012 GSA with 19000km on the clock.

This might sound crazy but I have not seen the bike as I work out the country. My friend picked it up and says it nice........ Well that does not tell me much. He knows little about bikes.
Is there a way that from the Vin number I can find out more about the build spec ? It has ABS and heated grips. What else might it have???

thank you

If it is full spec , it has ESA ( electronic suspension ) and Traction Control as well.

Let him take pics of the Controls on the Handlebars and post them here. It will be easy to spot.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had a look at the web site and it says its a 1200GS (Not GSA) manufactured Nov 2011. The rest I dont understand as its in German.
Will ask my friend to take pics of the handlebar and switches.

Ok I have translated the German.

What I have bought is a Tripple Black edition and it does have ESA and Traction Control. It has equipment package 2 (I have no idea what this means). It was built 23 November 2011 but only registered in SA 2012.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

This should be full spec then ..... They don't import too much bikes that isn't Full spec.

There is nothing wrong being built late 2011 , the 2012 spec came out approx Oct 2011.
