Friday:   Uitspan-Smutskraal & back
Saturday:   Uitspan-Willowmore-Klaarstroom-De Rust- Dysseldorp- Montagu Pass- George...

Looks like you gents were on a hunger strike on this ride.
1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...

Old bike: '82 Eddie Lawson Replica Replica.
Other bike: '05 Honda Varadero 1000
New bike: '16 Honda Africa Twin.

The "road" conditions through  the Baviaans is really getting "adventurous" - off course ideally suited to thumpers! I feel sorry for the local people with their cars, and I must say if you take a "big bike" through the Baviaans now - you must either feel nothing for the bike and/or have tons of back-up capital...  :deal:

 :sip: MarkB and myself did the same route last Saterday, nice pics, also saw the Kudoes at that ould house, that river crossing was a riller, I was really worried that I'll put the bike down in the water.
The climb up the mountain was also something to remember. We did it in one day, would do it again but will stay over two camp sites next time.
Yamaha 50, Yamaha 400, 2 x Yamaha DR 350 LC, Honda CBX 550 F2, Honda TransAlp 650, Triumph Tiger 800 Xc,
Now 2015 Triumph Tiger 800 Xcx.and.. my favorite... 1996 Yamaha Tenere 660 5 valve single.And, the latest 1989 Yamaha Super Tenere 750.

Yes, it's a waste to just ride through - that's why we decided to put up base-camp at Uitspan. One has to spent some time in the Baviaans to appreciate the atmosphere!  :thumleft:  Our only limitation was fuel - that was the deciding factor in where to turn around...
