Is there trouble at Honda? Helder also jumping ship!

http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/component/k2/item/2718-helder-rodrigues-leaves-hrc-for-yamaha

Looks like trouble at HRC which is weird since Yamaha had a disasterous 2015, Helder must have high hopes.

From ADV:

With Salar de Uyuni back on the route, Team ROKON has started testing their new rally bike for the 2016 Dakar. Tom Blais, President of ROKON, the second oldest motorcycle manufacturer company in the United States, says "We see this as a real opportunity to have an American motorcycle on the podium this year. With the rest of the field sunk at the bottom of the Salar, our team of riders are guaranteed first place."

Just saw this  ???
COMA has retired
http://www.motorsport.com/dakar/news/dakar-legend-coma-retires-from-competition

Damn! That is a big surprise.

So with Coma out and CdP in a car who is going to take the win this year?
Any predictions for the podium or is it too soon?

I really wish Goncalves can take a win!

According to Toby Price's Instagram he signed a deal with the KTM Red Bull Factory team.

I think once he gains some experience, especially with navigation he is going to unbeatable.

. . . mmmm. . Knopkop, die tema begin vroeg vanjaar, mooi !

Die groot vraag vir my is, watter SAFFERS gaan volgende jaar Dakar 2016 ry ?
Met die hoe $ wisselkoers met die ZAR gaan dit n duurder ren as Dakar 2015 wees.
Sterkte aan die SAFFERS vir 2016 !

I must admit, I have been in a bit of a Dakar-slumber while keyboarding the Amageza . .

So, the entries for the bikes closed on 15 July and Marc Coma is now scrutinising all the entries to decide who will be allowed to participate! "The letter" will be issued to those who qualify by the end of July, but the full list of participants will only be announced at a press conference on the 18th of November.

Darn, this means we'll have to wait quite long to know the full story, but I am sure some of you guys have the inside track about the likes of Riaan, Darryl, Brett, Albert and the quad boys Brian and Willem/Hannes . . .

What about Wessel? Any new contenders / wild cards?

SANZ IMPRESSES IN FIRST RALLY OUTING

http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/enduro21/item/3057-sanz-impresses-in-first-rally-outing

Racing KTM's 450 Rally bike for the first time at Baja Aragón 2015, Laia Sanz ended the three-day rally raid sixth overall, the best result ever achieved by a female rider...

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Honestly I am gutted by Marc's decision, though I think a lot had to do with his close friend Kurt Caselli's death in Nov 2013.

Rising at the level these top guys do is very dangerous, and after 10 years of doing it I guess other things become more important. I'm beginning to feel the same way in my short and mostly unimpressive racing career of 5 yrs.

Still love racing though and Marc's flowing riding style is something I have never grown tired of watching.
