Congrats, saw it yesterday, it's a great looking machine. They say it's costing is upwards of R90000, is that what you paid?

Price is R95K

I must say that it feels like a toy between your legs after a big Dual Sport, and as a roughly 6ft guy, I found myself hunched like I was a hyperama plastic bike for kids.

However, the suspension very competent, the torque awesome, the fueling is perfect, and it sure is easier to ride on rocks and sulke goed, than my SE, due to the weight.

Yes, it feels very very light.

I stuffed up the starting of the thing (RTFM), but once I learned how to do that, she started up like a champ and ran like a champ.

Tested her on the 3rd section of the Enduro Loop on the KTM Weekend.

Congrats Paul - gooi mielies!

I bought he to muck around in the bush. Did that on Friday and she already has some scratches ;)

Due to happen sooner than later.

Went riing again today around Stellenbosch and what i can tell you is that is bike is really difficult to ride slow. She is a hooligans bike  ;D and handle so sweet on the road like you are riding a smc/motard.  This remindes me when "Wes" took the BMW x challenge for a test ride. She is so fast and furious and flies thru the gears from 1st to 6st like you wont believe.

I have adjusted the suspension to the sport settings for dirt.  After the service the sahara come off and the dirt tyres get put on with the akro.  ;)
Will be playing some more tomorrow before the 1000km service. Then the real fun will start.
I dont think that there are many bikes that will catch this new 690.  She is really wicked, on tar and dirt. From owning the 625 sxc to having this, "There is no comparison" Now that is only my thoughts. But you go and test ride one and you will see.

This is no beast for beginners. >:D

Actually, Paul, I agree.

The only place I'll beat you is on the open road, top speed. And maybe acceleration through the gears if theres an open road.

EVERYWHERE else - this bike will eat the SE. No doubt about it.

Shes a cool bike. What about the headshake at about 100?

LITO,

I meant bikes with the same capacity, you are an excemption bra. You too fast man on that se.

It is not really head shake, I have adjusted the suspension today from standard to sport and will be trying this out tomorrow again. I think that the real solution is the tyre. This will be changed on Wednesday.

Are you coming with tomorrow for a wee ride out in the country????
