LED Spotlight mount - Pooratech
« on: May 03, 2015, 05:11:00 pm »
After some time pondering where to mount the LED spotlight I finally came across a plan. Initially I wanted to mount the lights on the crash bars, but clamping with U-bolts and possible chips from stones deterred me from doing so.

Looking under the beak for a mounting point I came across these hexagonal holes. I don't know if they are needed for another aftermarket part, but for now they would do.

Builders warehouse had the perfect fitting that would do the job for a mere R36 a piece. R72 bucks later plus S/s bolts, nuts ,washers and normal tap rubber washers.

I chopped off 20mm on the short end of the alum U bend thingy and rubber sprayed them black.

Part number and make included.

Dropped the bolt through the washer and rubber washer...

Tighten all bolts and nylon nut underneath, mount spots and voila! The spots cabling meets exactly halfway and this I'm planning to join and the hook up to the auxiliary plug on the left.

I'm assuming that the auxiliary power socket switches off when you switch the bike off?
