If I'm not mistaken, one of the US Special Forces use the Explorer.

You're right about the GG frame. The 2012 + model was heavier than it's predecessor. The 2011 GG is considered by many to be the best GG ever. I've owned a GG300, and can vouch for their reliability.

Found this picture on the Facebook of Ian McLaren. Credits to the photographer.

This describes the event, counting for at least half the participants, perfectly with one picture.

Hey Man,

I'm Having trouble with that Forum Name of yours  ;)

As far as I know they will compete in the same class as other bikes. The Christini takes part in the same classes as the other bikes at Hard and Extreme Enduro's around the world, like Romaniacs, Erzberg, The Tough One etc, as well as at X-games.

I will confirm your question with The Roof organizers within the next week. They are welcome to chip in here and answer for me  ;D

Kind Regards

Drew

The Roof has three classes, Bronze, Silver and Gold according to the severity of the route. Choice of bike is the competitors.

PS. Quads are not bikes!

Did the Bronze Qualifier, it was a fantastic route. Here's the ride from my perspective. Not sure how to embed a video on this forum, but here goes.

Going up the last hill was my best part of the whole race. Knowing that this is the famous Bushmans and the last challenge before getting home, and even though i was exhusted, the mind, body and sole got a shot of adrenalin which sprang it into action as if i was chasing my prey..

I remember this step, a couple of the guys in front of my struggled as not enough momentum. I just hit it hard and was up and over without much effort. The guy on tthe lower step warned me about it.

@ Michiel. I recall u sitting just above it and congratulating me when i came up. I also remember you from Sea2Ski. This seems worse than day 1&2 even though the kms were less, but not as difficult as day 3.

Loopsoosstroop,

Laat weet as jy belangstel.

Groete

*** Hijack*** I have a virtually new Christini KTM 250 with 4hrs on, I built it up my self taking meticulous care on assembly with every nut and bolt. This is the second one I built , the 1st was sold and now the second one is up for sale as I just never use it. - I know its the wrong thread to post for sale's in but if anyone is interested PM me .

That looks like a 2010 or 2011 model? With only 4 hours on it?   :o :o

Cycle C,

That bike looks new, when did you complete the build and why have you ridden it so little? Christini build all their bikes in-house now, and no longer sell the frame kits. I have sent you a PM, and may just be very interested in the bike. I am putting together a team for The Roof!

Let me know your thoughts.

Kind Regards

Andrew

Like I said I had another one a KTM AWD 300 that I used, this was just a project for me as I really enjoy technology and different things, the aim was to build it up and sell, but Ja I have not really tried hard to sell it. I also prefer riding a "normal" bike. not that there is anything wrong with the AWD. The 4hrs is really just the set up ride on a gravel road to make sure all is working well and to tweak the jetting, chain tensions etc. It seems mad not to ride the bike but its like a piece of art and I have other bikes that I would rather abuse. Its a really fine piece of equipment especially on steep slippery rocky uphill's.

I think I'm in for 2016. I have to do at least one Roof before I turn 50.

I had thought of one but at 56 it is unlikely to happen (esp with the way the Roof is becoming increasingly extreme) ... so my 17 year old is doing it for dad!  :ricky:
