I am trying to check the timing on my bike but no marks are visible on the clutch carrier
All the marks on the clutch carrier (flywheel) is painted white. So should be clearly visible
I am using an inductive timing light using the left spark plug and an external battery. New timing light and direction of the pickup is correct
I have tried a variety of revs (idle (1100??) to 4500) and no marks are visible
The bike currently runs and doesn't misbehave ie. no obvious funnies
Can my timing be off that badly and the bike still be able to run properly?
What can I check/set/change to be able to set the timing?
