VISION FOR RESTORATION OF THE SAN-PEOPLE

The vision for restoration of the San-People (Bushmen) does not only include the people on our farm, but also their families at Platfontein close to Kimberley, and ultimately to re-unite them with their family members in North Namibia and South Angola.
There are 6-8 villages of Bushmen in South Angola (±300 people).Because of not having Passports and Identity documents they cannot join their families in South Africa.

It started as reconciliation for a specific group but soon spread to the whites, coloureds and Xhosa people, as they started working on the farm.

Our dream is to see reconciliation between all groups in the Eastern Cape.
As a result we started our Reconciliation day on 1 May, inviting all the people in our area to join us.  This event takes place annually.

The projects with our labourers on the farm ,differ from other projects on neighbouring farms as well as businesses in the sense that we want to reach families as far as Angola.

My personal dream is to visit the San People in South Angola to get a picture of their circumstances.

CAMP KIMBO PROJECT

Camp Kimbo is a Project aiming at preserving the Heritage and culture of the San People.

Two Boesman women started building their traditional huts on the farm.
We encourage the young people to take an interest in this trade.
Sophia and Berlina are also doing traditional dances and teaching it to the youngsters.

Masseka is making bows and arrows and the children on the farm are encouraged to build on this tradition.
Their traditional meal includes – traditional bread with Mealiemeal pap to be dipped in “likkewaan-sop”.
The arts and crafts include table cloths, paintings, jewellery from ostrich egg shells and beadwork.

When you visit Kimbo you can enjoy San food, our choir and their traditional dancing..
Masseka can take you one morning on the trail of Kudu and teaching you the art of "tracking"an animal.

In short, Camp Kimbo’s role is to preserve the heritage of the smallest nation in South Africa.  Also to impart knowledge and tradition to future generations.
You can be part of this, by investing your expertise and time in this project........

Thank you
