The Bike Show on IgnitionTV (Ch 189)
« on: May 19, 2015, 10:16:17 am »
This is one of those informative thread thingies, whereby I let you know what's on this week and you can either say you enjoyed it or tell us that we are a bunch of useless knobs that shouldn't be on TV. Either one is actually a lot of fun.

It is either showing on IgnitiionTV (DSTV channel 189), or the they put up on The Bike Show YouTube channel:/
https://www.youtube.com/user/IgnitionBikeShow

At the moment, relative to this forum, Harry Fisher did a piece on the Aprilia Caponord Rally that has been showing this week. And I can't remember what else is on. And I don't know what time the repeats are on.

Maybe this thread isn't that informative...

(Modified bit)
I managed to find out the weekly times of the show, herewith:
Saturday 11:30 | Sunday 17:30 | Monday 14:30 | Tuesday 00:30 | Wednesday 04:30 | Thursday 20:30 | Friday 08:30 and 17:30

Harry rode the Capanord.  Okayish report.
You talked about some boot.  Said very little.
Clinton did a fast lap on some motards type bike.

All in all,  about as informative as this thread.

I love the show. Have it on "record series" on my pvr. Still need to check the last episode.

But please enlighten us, why is the video quality so bad? Yikes, some of it looks worse than sabc analogue.

And the first reply on this thread is a scathing one. I told you this would be fun.

It's the way IgnitionTV broadcast. I don't know the technical side of it (I don't know much about anything, it would seem) but they broadcast differently to the likes of SuperSport. I imagine it's a cost thing.

Thanks for the kind words.

Scathing?   Ag nee Don.   At worst it was a bad attempt at humour.

I also watch this programme.  The best of the bike stuff.  I know you guys have to push some products to make the show financially viable, but you don't do it too overtly.  The style of presenting is good: laidback without sounding put on.  Reviews are usually quite pointed/honest.  Nice to get a more realistic review than the usual bought-and-paid-for stuff that most SA car / bike mags offer.

Thanks for bringing us something worth watching.

Personally the only thing I would change to the show if I had the power in my hands was to make it a hour show with more bike report detail and showing more riding.

But its not in my power. Love the show love the realistic thinking around cost and such of accessories. Keep doing what your doing

I do enjoy the show. Can't really give suggestions, you guys are the experts. :thumleft:

I saw a glimps of myself in a show you guys filmed at Bavarian. Looked very fat, even my wife's remark was that I must have lost a lot of weight in just two weeks or my TV is  B-shitting. :imaposer:

I never though a journalist would pay for a bike that he crashed.

I only watch the first 10 minutes of 2-Wheels which usually includes a bike test.  The Bike Show is much better and I dont miss an episode.  But there's a new show starting on Ignition in October specifically around adventure bikes.....check out 'Lookwhatyouremissing' on Facebook - they've got a couple of sneak previews loaded....looks like its going to be a good one.....
