Should I be concerned?

Should I be concerned about this ding on my DRZ's engine cover?...or just think of it as a handy little modification?

If it weeps oil maybe look at getting it welded, if not just leave it..

Get a set of case savers. Next one will damage that case and you wont know.

Weld a piece of flat bar onto the gear shift lever to give it a nice large "footprint" when it is forced into the cover.

Also take a file and get rid of that sharp edge on the shift lever, file it nice and round
