Bringing a bike to ZA
« on: April 28, 2008, 09:56:36 pm »
Hi,
Wondering if I could find some answers on this forum.
I sent my bike US to Germany and then road down to Dakar. I'm in Dakar right now. Now I'm shipping it to ZA to travel around for 2-3 months.
My bike is a 2005 KTM 640 ADV currently with 13000 km and counting. Stays mostly under 5k RPM. I really take good care of it so as to not get stranded on the way.
Does anyone know what the cost of registering it in ZA would be and what I can ask for it when I'm ready to sell (or ship it) and go home? Is there a better place in southern Africa for me to do that? This will influence my rout which currently is planned to end in Cape Town.
Thanks,
Assaf
