The long awaited 1150 Bash was upon us finally and we decided to make a proper trip down to Gariep. The plan was to leave Pretoria and meet up with a buddy of mine from KZN in Harrismith. From there we would head through Golden Gate; Clarens; Ficksburg and spend the 1st night. The second day gravel from Ficksburg to Bethulie and 3rd day arriving at River Destiny Lodge, Gariep. We each left at 5am Thursday morning, seeing that Harrismith is halfway between Pretoria and Durbs.
Just outside of Joburg, i wish i had heated grips as the fingers began to feel numb and the only way of heating them up was to stop at an Engen garage.
