 Looks like a chain reaction is starting to form here.

Ganjorra is pimping my XR for me - should also have it in about a year.

I seriously like the DR and the SM so I cant see that happening

The TW you guys can forget - that will not happen. You do not sell a TW you simply part with it temporarily when you fall of. ;D

So what to do with a "broken" foot and suffering borderline OCD? - well, you clean and polish your bike of course. And then you clean it some more. And then you fiddle around after that ;D

The wheels and swing arm was already polished by the previous owner so I decided to add the triple clamps to the equation to get the balance right - and to keep me busy. Then followed small stuff like the hooter. Cleaning and polishing it I sat and marvelled at the beauty and solidity of it - it is a piece of art.

I am also currently awaiting the arrival of some spares. For those put off by the perceived "spares problem" with Husky's I have experienced none of that so far. Orders are mailed in, EFT's and the parts are available 8-10 days later at surprisingly good prices. For example, my left hand fuel petcock is fubar - a new one from agents R148.48. That is not bad.

Where something is not immediately available they give you a ETA at factory and you can then decide if you want to order in the meantime, or wait.

So after I am done I run through the switches to check on the electrics again because I had the instrument cluster off and have re-routed a number of electrical connections. Everything worked as it should. Not expecting anything to happen (as the bike has been in a semi-stripped state for some time) I touched the starter button just to check if the starter motor would swing over. The bike roared into life instantly.

Did I ever mention that I love this bike?

It seems to me that the more interesting a bike is to me, and perhaps the more temperamental (or Italian), the more appealing it is as it satisfies both my mechanical and riding needs. The Husky seems to be more than just a bike - it has some real soul.

I can hardly believe it, are we talking Primrose here for spares or ordering from overseas ? My friend waited about 6 months for a chain slider when it finally arrived he had sold his bike a long time ago and told them to keep it  Not their fault as the factory was in between the BMW/ KTM takeover at that stage. I found it to be a big head ache. Granted I never bought from overseas and Blazes always helped me out.

Seems things have really improved over the last few months. Helps if you make use of a jacked-up dealer too.

I use Puzey in Ferndale and deal with Shanna - Mike's advice :thumleft:

Yeh..........Primrose (pity, they did good) is out and Puzey seem to be the people to use now. Ordered some spokes for my back wheel. Price is very acceptable but lets see if all is good when I collect.

As I said not Primrose but the factory stuff up overseas. Japanese not much better imho, they never keep stock - always have to order 4-6 weeks blah blah blah. I was actually hoping KTM would take over the Husky spares. I have never walked into a KTM dealership and not find a part ! And this goes fro anything from thermostats, gaskets, drain bolts you name it. Everything right there behind the counter  :thumleft:
