wet Wet WET!!!!
« on: May 05, 2008, 09:36:18 am »
bliksem!

thats all i can say.

my brand new waterproof Assault jacket tried its best, but after an hour in the ppppouring rain, i was ffffffreezing cccccold never the less.

nikki wasnt too bad as i blocked off the worst of it for her with my body, but her denims... well, lets just say denims are the worst form of wind, rain, and crash protection. her legs were like ice when we got home, and after a hot bath and an empty geyser, she was still cold, so wrapped her in a blanket and put her in a down sleeping bag.

as incredibly uncomfortable as it was in the rain for two hours, thats how good it wasgetting warm again at home  >:D

at a garage in Koster.
this was after spending an hour of riding in the rain and dealing with super slippery muddy roads enroute from groot marico

going to groot marico for the night - our spirits were much higher (and drier), despite forking out a whopping R55 at the dumbest tolgate on the planet.

note to self: trust the forecast. and when it says "expect rain in two hours time: get home asap, instead of going for a scenic ride.

There is some nice gravel you should have taken ;D

Ok, gou 'n vinnge vraagie as jy nie omgee nie.

Hy voel baie ligter as my 1200.

erm... maybe I'm gonna stir here... BUT surely the lady pillion should not be wearing sneakers & jeans. More protection for her should be arranged... die manne kan met scars rondloop... not the ladies?

Good to see you back on orange!  Looks like the 640 is the machine for you.  I saw the 800 GS in the rocks last weekend, works well in capable hands but more vulnerable the the 640, especially in the sump area.  Enjoy!

we are accumulating gear as we get the cash.
i sold the landy, despite being broken, last thursday, and went shopping after - hence the new tent and jackets.

but alas, money always finds a hole to fill, and i just had to fork out R8000 for the receiver  >:(

pants are next, right after arai tour-x style helmets.
untill then we use our mx pants. for soem reason nikki didnt wear her pants and boots, not that it would have made a difference to the cold  ;)
