So the time has come to get a trailer again and I am really scratching my head about the essential features that it should have.

Here is a summary of my situation / needs -

1. Two bike trailer (bikes that it must be able to load is any double combination of the bikes that I have - DR650, SM610 and TW200)
2. Light and strong with decent ground clearance as I normally would travel gravel roads
3. Multi-use. I do not want something with channels. Must have a flat floor.
4. Mesh or sheet metal floor - pro's and cons please
5. Front wheel chocks must be capable of holding wheels secure (including the TW's fat wheel) - what design will work best for multiple wheel dimensions?
6. Must be able to transport a single bike in the middle of the trailer
7. Easy loading with integrated loading ramp
8. Reinforced wheel arches - I always end up stepping on it
9. One spare wheel (situated where it will not deflect stones back to the bakkie and shatter the canopy window). What is the best location?
10. One Jerry can
11 Some form of anti-theft measure - e.g. blocking of access to the towing arm

So far I like the shorty trailer by X-factor, but would appreciate your comments and experiences in order to be able to refine my design.

Thanks
