I attempted an emergency stop a freshly rained (oily) road near Woolsely and came off today. The chunks out of the road are where I went down, the ambulance is where I stopped sliding.

Airoh S5 Helmet

Alpine Stars Tech Touring jacket, elbow/shoulder pads inserted

RST Pants (knee pads removed), side pants inserted.

Total injury tally:
A tender rib (landed on my asthma pump in the side pocket of my backpack) and bump on my elbow. Nothing deep heat and scotch can't solve.
I could very easily be sending this mail form an emergency room, instead the only blood drawn was when then ambulance tested me for booze.
