Dayam! I've got to go ride there. Soon!! This ride report is gonna cause me sleepless nights. Awesome.

Pofadder... I was there on a school trip in the mid eighties. One of the English guys went to the shop to buy a packet of chips. So he gets to the counter and asks for a packet of chips to which the tannie behind the counter replies: "What vintage?"

Thanks guys & Rieks.

It was a strange trip because we were prepared to abandon it on the first day. The longest she's been on a bike before was 40 odd minutes, and it wasn't off road. So we were hoping that she would settle in, otherwise we were going home.

Lucky for me it worked out splendidly.

We spoke about your trip at the Paradise rally last night - bumped (danced) into a few Wilddogs, Excalibur and friends. Tell us about the harnass and what would happen it you fall over in the sand - did you ever fall with her?

No, I never fell. You tend to put a lot more effort into staying upright.

What would happen, don't know, don't intend to find out either. I suppose one must try to go down face first, which is the normal way in sand anyway.

I am only aware of one accident using this specific belt, a guy had a deerstrike but he stayed up and the kid wasn't thrown as he had been strapped in.

Fan-bloody-tastic. I just loved it.
Having re-read it for the third time, I just know why we do these things. The experiences are unforgettable

Riding through the Namibian town of Karasburg, I saw the sign to Onseepkans and thought of you chaps and just wanted to detour !!!

But that will have to be another time.

Dis nogal interresant waar Onseepkans se naam vandaan kom. Ons is laas jaar met die fietse daardeur op ons Namibia trip. Die boere het 'n vee suiping daar in die rivier gehad en sou dan se dit is ONS SUIPKANS en het toe in die volksmond Onseepkans geword. Daai 2 spoor sand pad lyk m@%r moeilik.

I have just made a new inscription on my bucket-list.

What was the total distance covered on how long did it take you Michnus?
