"Rock and Blues Custom Show cancelled due to fears of violence

Organisers of the Rock and Blues Custom show have taken the decision to cancel the event after Derbyshire Police warned the event could be used as a battleground by motorcycle gangs.
Organiser One Percent entertainments withdrew its application for a premises licence. Police believed the event would be an ideal location for the Hells Angels to attack rival motorcycle gang the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
Seven members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were arrested for the murder of Hells Angel Gerry Tobin on the M40 after the Bulldog Bash in August 2007.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: â??Derbyshire Constabulary acknowledges the withdrawal of the licensing application for the Rock and Blues Custom Show as a sensible and pragmatic decision by the organisers.
We remain firmly of the view that had the vent gone ahead, it would have presented an unacceptable risk to the people of Derbyshire and visitors attending the show.â?
15,000 people were expected to attend the Rock and Blues Custom Show which was scheduled to be held on July 24 to July 27."
