Good service - Thank you Lecap
« on: August 11, 2015, 01:59:36 pm »

I recently purchased a DRZ400 with carburettor issues, and I took it to Lecap just a day (Thursday) before the thumper bash.
I received the bike the next day, and rode it all the way to Ladysmith.

Bike has done a thorough 1000 km at a very respectable 24 km per litre over the weekend, and behaved impeccable.
She even starts up on a bitterly cold morning without a choke.
Jurgen sorted the carb, checked the valve clearances and timing, and gave the bike a check over, making me aware of niggles that need to be sorted in future.

Thank you Jurgen, you are officially my little DRZ`s gp now.

regards

My dear old dad used to say: "If it cold starts without a choke, it is running too rich".

Nice to see a GOOD service story for a change though.   :thumleft:

Start up and cruising do not use the same jets,  but I wouldn't know.   Either LeCap or my dear old dad would have to explain.  I. am not sure which would be scarier!

I have never met Lecap, but I always enjoy reading his comments and replies in the technical sections, from which I have come to understand that he knows his stuff and takes due care and diligence.

True that is what the idle jet is for, but it is tunable and is rarely changed from stock unless you do major mods.
