3000km(now 2000) To the 2015 Nat Bash via the Eastern Cape
« on: September 19, 2015, 03:04:59 pm »
Ok, lets see if i can do a small RR on this flippen Ipad while on my way to the Bash.
The plan is to follow this route sort of. Grondpad alliepad behalwe as ek gatvol raak
Start and end will be River Destiny since I cheated again and stoetie'd up to there
(I need my rooftop at the bash sodat Draad nie in my tent kan inkom nie )  >:(

EDIT:
After meeting HtB (see below) i did some tar twisties with him and our way departed at Middelburg from where I decided to aim straight for Addo and skip the Transkei bit

Ready to go

Gues who showed up at the Engen at Bloem ? Ons eie Jan Spies van motorcycle ride reports, the one and only Harry the Buffalo. Ek sien hom dalk vannaand so sal update more oor wat die legend deesdae doen.

Ok, lyk my eks eerste hier  :P

Die omgewing is baie droog en vaal maar RDest is pragtig. Hulle het baie water uit die rivier en gebruik dit mildelik. (Wish I could plant a few pecannut trees here....)

Hierdie hoender met n paar pelle loop hier buitekant rond so watch out, hulle is blykbaar baie anti-Bmw.

Droog maar mooi

On my way to meet Dave (Harry) at Greendoors.

A quick turnoff next to the railwaybridge over the river got me to a bit of a dead end. Nie eers n 690 gaan hier oorkom nie. Vorentoe, agtertoe, hyg stoot en vloek oor ek so dik is en whalla, daar gat ek weer. Now for that zamalek.

Me, Dave, Jakkals&Bolf en Klippies had some pork chops the size of Saartjie Baardmans ass and discussed the meaning of life and showed each other pictures of our Rotweilers. Ok ons ry more saam Middelburg toe dan sal ek n kiekkie gooi.

Playing with my breakfist this morning

To be Continued soon.......

If you push your luck, shit will happen. Exactly what happened to me today.

Ek het kak gesoek en dit gekry Dont't ever think T4A only have nice tracks on them. 20km from Jansenville on a gravel road I took a detour and 6 hours later, completely buggered, running on fumes soaking wet and just before dark I arrived in, you guesed it, Jansenville.
A bit of a taister on where I was but first I must do the report in sequence.

Ok, after breakfast myself and Harry the Buffalo (Dave) hit the tar to Middelburg and following him I can say with confidence that my 990 gives 15km/l @ 160, not bad I think. I will definitely visit Dave in Phalaborwa. Soos ons plattelanders se, hy is van my kerk se mense maar ook n ou wat ek langs my soek in n bar fight.

From Middelburg I got lost in their township maar met die raad van n doosdronk swart dame het ek by die surrich (hoe spel mens skuit in ingels?) uitgekom wat so paadjie tot by die grootpad gehad het. After some gravel/tar I got to the Owlhouse turnoff. Nou kyk swambo wou nog altyd hier inneuk en ek het gese sorry, get your priorities straight,  ek gaan koop nie sement uiltjies vir die prys van n nuwe bashplate nie!
Maar pappie, is dit nou n lekker pad, do yourself a favour and take this road to New Bethesda and from there the tar road toward Graaf Renet, twisties heaven!

Road to New Betesda

The race is on, Ktm vs Bmw

Nearly took my bashplate out :eek7:

Church in NB, I think swambo and our Ds phoned them or something because as I got of the bike, all hell broke loose. Die koster het daai klokke begin slaan met die mag van Goliat, ek het my gat af geskrik die hele dorp se honde het begin tjank en die ou tannies het op die stoep vir my gaan staan en kyk.

I was immediately surrounded by the local bike police  >:D but only to make sure that I stop at Ida's place for coffee.

Was die moete werd om te stop, Ryk en Lekker

I can understand why the yuppies are now paying premium prices for property in this place. Its so quite that my mom could hear the birds chirping while talking to her on the phone. O ja, hulle het 5bar 3G  :o WTf?

As I suspected, 'n klomp sement uile. Die local kelner se vir my jy kan n prys wen innie baai, First price is one night at the owl house, Second price is two nights  :lol8: Sorry, eks nou lelik, daar is eintlik baie mooi kunstige kaggelkakkertjies wat daar kan koop

And off I go, to the start of my 4 hour ordeal to do 40km of a 4x4 trail only accessible to Defenders and KTM's  :snorting:
But that will have to wait for tomorrow, ek is so moeg 'n blonde met rooikop sussie sal my nie nou wakker hou nie

Hehehe, lekker man lekker.
