« on: May 16, 2008, 12:46:01 pm »
My Akro and alu skid plate arrived today. Hippy.

Ordered my stuff from the UK on Monday, they sent it on Tuesday and i got it today.

Isnt that good service. They also gave me 17.5% discount.

Made my descion now, will only import my parts and wont buy locally anymore as there is no import duties on motorcycle parts.

Will fit tonight and then get the mapping down at the KTM delear in 4 weeks when i get back.

Yep, a decent zorst would be great, they do sound a bit asthmatic with the stock pipe.
If you can keep your head in the midst of all this confusion, you don't understand the situation!

All fitted because of LITO persuasion and what a difference with weight and sounds. The bike sounds like a real thumper now. Havent even removed the noise reducer as yet as she sounds so sweet. Thanks Lito, however the wife is mad. Will tell her it was your idea.

Will need to do the mapping when i return. Now just for the long weight until i get back from overseas.

I always use gear4offraod as i personally know the salesman there. I have used KTM redline UK too in the past, just as good.

However gear4offroad removes 17.5% off the prices as they are selling outside of the EU. So if you pay 14% in SA you have 3.5% to play around with for the postage. And remeber there parts are cheaper so you are always going to be scoring.

I will be placing another order soon as there service is outstanding, just cant explain this to you.

Nice very nice !!!

Will have to catch up with you one of these weekends to hear what it sounds like with the Akro

But please takeout the insert you are sporting in the photo.

What did you pay for the Akro (delivered)

How do you find the height of the bike?? or are we just really used to bikes that are (too) tall
No bike currently - only pedal variety Merida Transmission 3000D mountain bike

Insert will come out when she gets mapped. Installed the pipe the night before leaving for overseas in a hurry just to hear the sound.

Height is lower than my 625 sxc i had. Helps when riding up technical stuff and you wanna put your feet down. Even tho i am quite tall it doesnt really make much difference.

Yeah we can hook up when i get back from overseas.

Paid aprox R5000 for the end can. I bought the skid plate the end can and some other goodies for just the price of which the end can would be in SA.

KTM Bigger,

how about an update on the ownership experience to date?
I'm considering picking one up this Friday, and would appreciate any input from your side:

    still happy with your choice.
   any major mechanical/electrical issues
traits and quirks of the bike you particularly dont like
features and abilities that really turn you on each time you ride

Just recieved my scotts damper from the US. What a piece of art this is. I bought it through underground engineering. This guy is phenominal with his engineering. I will be fitting it when i get home, cant wait anymore.

Update:

Yes i am still very happy with my choice.
No major mechanical problems as of yet.
The power is amazing , everytime i ride i get to know your better and the ability. I have yet to experience a place that i cant ride.
I have been riding with the smaller enduro bikes i.e 450 crf and 525 ktm and 450 ktm and they are very surprise on the performance. What they are mostlely amazed at is that i keep up with them.

What a piece of engineering. Sorry for the poor pictures as they were taken with the cellphone offshore.
