Crossing the Caledon river, apparently this is the only bridge in South Africa that has a road and a rail line in one, and what an incredible crossing, its really wide, to see taht whole river in flood must be a really spectacular sight

Saterdagoggend en middag….

Dit was n pragtige oggend …vroeg-vroeg het bikes die kamp verlaat na n eier/bacon bun met koffie..

Ek en Hein het begin t-shirts en stickers uitdeel met Mikie se hulp en GingerBreadMan het ook n handjie bygesit…dit het redelik vlot verloop…. :)

Toe het ons n draai met die bikes na die dam gery en Bushtrotter het vir my gewys hoe mens eintlik moet ry…ja,ek het baie harde werk voor my,maar om bike te ry is awesome… :ricky:

Middagete was heerlike lasagne en nog meer WD’s het opgedaag…..

Kilroy se twee seuns het wegkruipertjie en rekenaarspeletjies met die twee dogters gespeel van die vorige aand af en die deal was dat ek hul Chaperone en lewensredder op die kanoe moes wees na middagete…..

Die van julle wat my al beter ken weet dat die lekkerste van n Bash vir my,die lekker lag vir mense en hul stories is…..nou ja…ek moes nog mense saamkry vir stories en grappies en die eerste ouens wat ek sien is Skaapkop,Dewet,Costa,Chris ,Nellis en Hotwire….ek praat 4 van hulle in die avontuur in ….

En daar is ons oppad,die groot manne net so excited soos die twee jong seuns…(hulle het nogal baie biere saamgevat,miskien was hulle eerder daaroor opgewonde).... ;)

as chaperone beskou ek dit as my plig om te alle tye naby die twee te wees en so paraat as moontlik die seuns te kan red in die diep Oranjerivier….. :lol8:

ok ,die rivier is toe op meeste plekke net 30cm diep en na n groot geveg tussen die oues en jonges oor wie die vinnigste wegspring en roei,breek daar n geveg tussen die twee broers uit en hulle slaan mekaar met spane en gooi mekaar met water….maar ek sit en lag so dat ek amper verstik aan my bier….
soos almal kon verwag is daar n muitery en die chaperone word beskuldig sy is “‘dead weight”en sit en niks doen………ek was blykbaar later die aand ook “dead weight” ;D

ok,teen die tyd worry ek nou nie meer so erg dat die seuns iets verskrikliks kan oorkom nie en ek moet “oorrol” na die ander boot sodat niemand sink nie…..op daai stadium “tou” ons die seuns sodat hulle hul roei-ritme kan kry…teen die tyd lag ek onophoudelik vir die kompetisie tussen die “groot seuns” en die kleintjies…….

die seuns besluit dis meer fun met dead weight en ek rol terug…..en toe tref ons die eerste stroomversnellings…..die boot wil nie verder nie want dead weight sit hom vas op die plat klippe….nodeloos om te se ek moes weer oorrol en toe lag ons so dat ons sukkel om te roei ….

Ansu het ons van ver hoor aankom…en Hotwire en Andre het die resies gewen,maar ons beloon met nog bier…..toe ek wil weet hoekom hulle so vooruit roei,toe se hy,hy was bang die biere by hom maak dit nie…… :lol8:

Hein, die stukkie storie moet jy asb vir jou seuns lees…
