Good news gentelmen, I got the quote on the washers and rivets, a set consisting of 12 washers and 3 rivets will be R422.00.I should have them in my hands in a week or so, depending on how fast I can get a gap to collect when they are finished.I have ordered quite a lot as these guys don't want to talk to you unless you order hundreds (preferably thousands). Anyway we will have enough for the 10 Huskies in South Africa and then some.
Many recommend fitting the APE manual timing chain adjuster - should consider it while you are about it. Also the tappet cover bolts are notorious for leaking oil through the threads and onto the header etc. These need careful attention with silicone to prevent you having to go back in there … been there done that! Great rebuild.
I admire your gusto Check the rocker bushes as well, apparently they wear. My 610 always had a noisy tappety topend that I could never fix.
