The lower shock mount bearing on my 610 TE was completely dry at 8200 km, but fortunately not damaged. After greasing with Bel Ray I had no more play in the rear suspension. Swingarm bearings were fine, added a bit of grease.

Swingarm was straight forward and easy.....then I got to the linkage.

Man, whoever designed that rear shock bottom linkage set-up was probably pissed, or stupid, or both. Clearly he never intended that bearing to be ever removed after fitting because he chose to secure each side with oversize circlips (which you need a crowbar to bend) and then designed the bearing flanges so that you cannot get to them in any event. F@rkin idiot.


I did a full write up on this on Cafe Husky (including doing the swing arm bearings) - not sure if you looked at this? Yes I drilled holes to be able to get under the circlips with a pick. Honestly not such a big deal once you get your head around it and real peace of mind to know that it is all good and done properly. This is unfortunately the price you pay in maintenance on a linkage suspension. Did you fit extra seals - this is the answer imho.

Ha Ha  :lol8:  - Yes indeed you read my thread because you used my photographs of the parts! I recognised my finger that has a scar from a NT Cutter running up the side  :o
