I have just seen one at Vernon Perry's and I was very impressed. In the flesh it is a much more attractive and well thought out motorcycle than the pictures suggest. Where the KTM would be regarded as  contemporary industrial art the Husky looks much more like a 50's flowline concept. I am sure it will be from the same team as did the Husquavarna Nuda styling. Like the Freeride nothing sticks out of the sides and they have found a way to make an exhaust look normal again!

Mark Perry had a tag of around R110,000 on it and as he is always good for a deal I would assume that it would be a fair bit lighter on the pocket than the KTM690.

It is surprisingly light, you can lift the back up quite easily. Usually on this size of bike that would be a drag rather than a true lift.

I like what they did with the SM wheels by adding the yellow pieces.

Looks cool :drif:

That is a great price, too bad it's still R90 000 too expensive for me

 ???

I don't see how that would be. It's the same bike at it's core.

The first 4 bikes were brought into SA for homologation purposes which has not been completed yet and the Natis papers are not yet ready. As it stands the bike cannot be licensed, financed and insuring them will be difficult. If I bought it I would have to ride it on a special trade plate until the Natis is done.

The bike also still has a couple of hickups, for example the seat is not ready for production yet and in the interim they have fitted a different seat to this first batch of bikes.

As much as I wanted to pull the trigger I decided not too, which is bad because the next batch will be a lot more expensive.

Looks like I will be on a 690

A orange Husky with the niggles sorted sounds a safer bet  :imaposer:  How do you go to market with advertised prices and launches with a half sorted scoot. Sorry but real WTF! ... and I am a Huskisti (for lack of a better word )

You should have bought......the seats are being sorted, and the homologation is a technicality.

The stock OEM Husky tank is 1 Gallon (3.8L) 1L bigger than the stock KTM...
The front shocks are different
And the bike is launched with Husky accessory tanks available, though the seat issue seems a bit of a c@ck-up, until its sorted out!

Cheers
