There are some other things too; like the availability of aftermarket bling.
I also a swore never to buy a KTM Husky when Husky was bought by them  O0
The stock OEM Husky tank is 1 Gallon (3.8L) bigger than the stock KTM...
The front shocks are different
And the bike is launched with Husky accessory tanks available, though the seat issue seems a bit of a c@ck-up, until its sorted out!

Cheers

:thumleft: Look if they can come out with a better seat than the traditional Husky and KTM planks then roll on  :big grin: I am thinking that because it does not have a tacho that they are looking to put it in the seat  :imaposer:

Welsh, you will do better to go to a Husky dealer ie Puzey Bikers Warehouse in Randburg, they actually had a formal launch evening for the 701 a week or so ago.

I hear you, that could be the difference for me between the brands if I was in the market.  :sip:

RR how does the price compare between 690 and the husky?

Couple of grand more gets you the yellow and white facelift KTM  :peep wall:
and 1L extra fuel.

Apparently it went through the whole Homologation thing yesterday, so should be fine to Register on NATIS and that now.

Went to go have a look at the one standing at Eddy 2 Race. It's a beaut of a monster. On the floor for R119.995, but has been sold. Main shipment arriving mid Feb and they are expecting an increase. Not sure how much.

Said accessories will come in the same time as the bike shipment.

I went to Vernon Perry's today with my son after returning from Cape Town to find that they had sold the 710, the new owner had found it "too much bike" and is going to be resold as a demo with a go faster pipe on it. Someone is going to take a bath on this one!

The_Crow. Interestingly enough Vernon told me yesterday that Husqvarna have promised their dealers that prices will not increase as the Rand fluctuates. Now, THAT's a promise!

If you see one at the old price let me know! E2R and Biker's Warehouse has confirmed new stock to sell for R129k

I read some speculation on Advrider that the new Duke engine might be in the 701 next year or maybe the year after. That should be a nice upgrade.

Once there's a second hand one on the market I will have to summon all of my self-restraint not to buy it!
