I hate those tiny wheels on the scooters. What's wrong with a CRF230 and a road kit (lights and mirrors)? Probably set you back about R18k or R20k, and if you move your fat ass back on the seat, you may even be able to wheelie the thing! ;D

Agree, either something like this, or a TTR250, XT250 or XR250 (even though the XT and XR are horribly expensive new a few great secondhand deals have been coming up lately).

It is also not as if you need storage space on a scooter being used to riding with a small backpack.

As DH et-al said those small wheels makes them very uncomfortable if the road surface is not smooth. And forget about riding over pavements etc.

Ja well, I have cooled on the whole scooter idea anyway....

I still think it makes sense and could work. But that would mean I have to ride a scooter....

Maybe next year I can buy myself another, proper bike and rather use that as a commuter.

Hierdie raak nou soos as ek gaan shop vir iets.

Bajaj Pulsar 180

Max speed - 126km/h (downhill with tailwind)

2.92L / 100kms

Topbox for laptop, lunch, rainsuit.

I only have 73,400kms on mine - never been touched. Original sprockets. See the cost below - kept meticulous records since day one.

You'd be foolish not to have a look at one of these in my opinion.

I see trouble brewing....

Few things that could put a end to my hipster dreams....

Be educated. Aim to go to college, as hipsters tend to be well educated in such areas as liberal arts, graphic art, or math and science. So I take it Std 8 at Hoerskool Kempton Park won't cut it...?

Take a green approach to food. Consider growing your own food or turning vegetarian. Use compost if possible. Eating meat isn't always popular with the hipster culture, and many hipsters tend to be vegetarian or vegan. If you do eat meat, you must assert that choice as a cynical transcendence of vegetarians' futile attempts to save the world.
Become a f@#king Vegan?!!!

Read hipster classics. Your reading sources are important because what you read connects you with other hipsters, informs you about cultural issues, and keeps you knowledgeable. I have to read things?!!!

Watch hipster cinema.
Watch independent and foreign films, as well as attending independent theater productions, such as shows by Ann Liv Young. Watch Wes Anderson, Hal Hartley and Jim Jarmusch movies.
So those IMAX 3D 'Star Wars' tickets I have for opening weekend are useless?

Always have the latest iPhone handy......
