Djebel 250 developed a wobble. Wheel bearings?
« on: October 30, 2015, 03:16:38 pm »
Hi knowledgeable peoples of WD

My little Djebel has developed a rather weird sideways wobble at low speed.  It's like the little bike "shakes" left and right.  It happens when I slow down at a traffic light and is also quite evident when I give some power at slow speed while in a high gear.  I think it may be the rear wheel bearing, but I've tried shaking the wheel when the bike is upright and can't feel anything loose.  I don't hear any weird noises from the bike (like grinding metal parts) and other than the weird wobble at low speed the bike seems to run smoothly.

Any ideas how I can trouble-shoot this problem?

Thanx!

Take it to a mechanic!

None of the above. Front tyre still almost new and tyre pressure all good.

Turned out the wheels were buckled. Some new spokes and a good streighten and she's back to her sexy self again.

Thanx to Danie at Randburg Motorcycles.  :thumleft: Great service.

You could not see your wheels were buckled so bad that it caused the bike to wobble ?  :eek7:
