DR 650SE Main Jet (142.5)
« on: November 22, 2015, 05:23:43 pm »
While servicing the carb on my wife's bike ('07 DR650SE) I discover that the main jet is broken. The two O-Rings on the plastic frame for the floats are also way past due but those should be easily sourced from Bearing Man.

Does anyone have a main jet (142.5) that they will be willing to part with?
I'm hoping I can find one before Friday as we are planning a quick trip this weekend.

Is your DR in terms of airbox and exhaust/cannister still standard?

I might have a stock main jet for you.

Andrew at MotoComp in KZN is your source for all carb goodies.

Jets about R 70, and courier R 130.

I see you're in the WC. Maybe Lecap has one for you.

Think I still got one, but cannot post it to you. In the week I am chained to my desk.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the responses.
Hopefully I can find something locally. I'm happy to pay for new jets if I can get but my past experience with dealers and jets is that they don't stock them and they always have to order.

I do have few jets at home but they all have a hexagonal heads but I see the one in the DR has a round head with a slot for a flat screw driver.

I have ordered twice from MotoComp. Excellent service, and had what I needed in stock.

Craigs always has stock of the main jets. If push comes to shove I also have a 155 that you use.

I'm not exactly sure how it broke. I admit to having removed the jet in the past but I do try avoid over tightening things.
When I last had the carb open, jet was fine. Opened the carb on Saturday afternoon, jet broken.

Lecap, where are you based?

Thanks again Lecap.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but a friend who saw this post came by my house and gave me a new 145 main jet so the bike is all sorted.
