Having never had problems with panniers, pannier brackets or top box brackets on my GSA's in many km's of mixed riding...
On the S10, as much as I love and enjoy the bike, I just seem to break the hard luggage all the time.
The top box brackets do not last, and this weekend I also managed to damage the left pannier as well as break the right pannier bracket (the brackets are almost new have only been used on one Cederberg trip before).
Damage is not accident related, bike was not dropped at all.
I am not an extreme rider.
I do not overload (measured to Vis Arend standards I load the luggage at about 5% of carrying capacity)
