Bid or Buy HUGE HUGE issue!!

So, the missus and I saw this body armour jacket on BoB, she says I must get for my safety it and I say Na, too expensive!!
So this morning I have a rethink and decide, maybe she's right so go I go ahead and start bidding.
Next moment, some D##s starts bidding against me!!
After the 3rd bid against me, the missus phones me, "are you bidding on the jacket" she askes?
She's decided that she's going to get me this for Christmas!
Weve been bidding against each other!! Nnnngh!
