Sanwild was just part of the experience this weekend.  Peaches and myself had the pleasure really walking around in the little "town" while we were waiting for the posse from Letsitele.

The old hotel has been closed down, but here is some pics I have taken of the buildings and other interesting things I saw.  I hope Peaches will add to it.

The town.

Porter's pub.  I am sure we would have been welcome there.

A ginding stone in front of the pub.  Wonder how it got there.

Some mural art we found in the old hotel.

The car stolen from your cuz's brother-in-law.  It is parked in the old Leydsdorp hotel.  I am sure that everything is still there.  :)

The "new" Lodge's notice board.  Note that it is open 24 hours.  ;)

This is Dick and myself on Kruger's Post's front stoep.  Legend have it that the old Prez stayed there and that it was some of his favourite hunting places.

We wandered down the road and found the town's graveyard.  What a sad place.  It was a place where the majority of the graves we could still read was children below 5 years of age.

The two mothers in the party was of course in a bit of a state after that.

Here is Kitty's grave.  She was only 5 years old.

Little Doris was a few months old.

An Italian far from home.

On a happier note.  Stephan and I stayed in a beautifull spot all by ourselves.  Even though we had to navigate the little tweespoor concrete strips uphill twice in the dark.

The view from the deck.

The lapa we never used.  Firewood, the grill and chairs were ready for us every night.

Me coming down the dreaded strips.  All worth it.
