Hi all,
After a long planning and hard thinking I made a decision. Signed in. This will be my first Amageza.
I am from Finland, so it will be a long tour for me and many rocks have to turn up before I am there, but I will for sure.
Greetings from Finland,
Jori

Welcome!  :hello:

Welcome Jori! Yes you will have a few more rocks to turn than others but speak to thedutchie, he should be a expert in the preparation to get your stuff to SA etc... I'm sure he will give you some solid advise.

As for me, I will see you when I send you off at the start of the specials!!

Welcome and the best of luck. By the time you get to the start line you'll probably feel you've finished one rally already.

Does anyone know what the entry fee will be this year for the Assistance Vehicle and driver? I can't see a price for this on the purchase section of the entry store online?

We were able to restructure the race to facilitate a lower entry fee but still keep close to the original race distance for 2016.

In brief:

The race will start on Sunday 6 November 2016, and complete on Friday 11 November 2016. This should help with the leave from work we all need to take. So one could travel to Upington on the Saturday, and travel back the next Saturday, leaving one the Sunday to recover a bit before work on Monday!

We will only race in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.

Assistance Crews will travel Upington to Kakamas, to Springbok and back to Upington. Simple, and easy. Crews should not have to travel more than 800km during the race. Unless off-course you manage to get yourself lost so badly that you end up in Sutherland!

Cost without loyalty discount:
Motorbike (all): R28,950.00

Note:
Competitors who paid more than this will be refunded by means of a voucher they may use on another product or service. No cash refunds unfortunately.
Competitors who paid less need not worry. They were on a Early Bird Special. So all good.

New regs are on the website http://www.amageza.com/#!amageza-rallye/mzumb.

Guys, if you are not physically able to do the race on a bike, you are welcome to come on a Side x Side. This way you can have a navigator who can share some of the costs and off-course help with the navigation! Just a idea. We won't stay young forever!  ;D

It's showing on the Amageza store now: R3,990.00 for vehicle and driver- nice and cheap compared to last year!

. . . . and the Malle Moto marshall is going to have a good time with some serious Dakar Challenge riders.
Good luck to all the Malle Moto riders that are dreaming to be a Dakar 2017 "free entry" rider.
Here we go !!

Not specifically. Of course, Joey's deserving of all our support and admiration

But the prize is for entry to the 2018 event. This makes it that much more desirable.

I did wonder on his thread about the articulation of his 2017 aspirations and the Challenge for 2018 entry.  I don't remember if he answered that.
